China-ASEAN Expo Reach Rp664 trillion Business Deal
The 18th China-ASEAN Expo (CAExpo) trade and investment exhibition which ended in Nanning, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China, on Monday (13/9) resulted in 779 business deals worth a total of 300 billion yuan or around Rp664 trillion.
The score was an increase of 13.7 percent compared to the same event last year, the official local media said on Wednesday, citing a statement by the CAExpo Secretariat.
A total of 148 economic and trade promotion activities as well as 28 high-level forums were held during the exhibition which took place in the southern China region.
China has long had the CAExpo harvester building on 100,000 square meters of land in Nanning City. The building can accommodate 5,400 exhibition booths.
This year more than 1,500 companies, including a number of companies from Indonesia, participated in the annual event.
The organizers prepared a land area of 20,000 square meters for foreign companies, up 13.4 percent compared to the previous year.
The 19th CAExpo will be held on 16-19 September 2022 at the same venue by appointing Malaysia as an honorary country.
For the second time in two years, Pakistan is participating in the CAExpo event.
Pakistani President Arif Alvi gave a video address at the opening ceremony on Friday (10/9).
"China really appreciates it (Pakistan's involvement). Pakistan is attending meetings and exhibitions as a special partner country for the second time," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in Beijing on Wednesday.
In the last two years, ASEAN has overtaken the European Union and the United States as China's largest trading partner.
